On October 9, 2015 the parish of St. Patrick in Lucan, Ontario, was giving thanks to God for the
successful completion of the renovations of its church building. On that occasion the faithful of the
parish gathered with the Ordinary of the diocese of London, His Excellency Bishop Ronald Peter Fabbro
CSB to celebrate a thanksgiving Mass. In attendance were also priests from the community of St.
Michael the Archangel of the North American Vice Province with their Superior Father Andrew
Kowalczyk CSMA.
In his homily Bishop Fabbro stressed that the renovation of the church has to go hand in hand with the
renovation of our hearts. He pointed to the Saint Michael as the patron in the fight against sin and evil
which is present in our hearts. During the ceremony Bishop Fabbro also blessed a new tabernacle for the
church.
Ks. Dariusz Lewandowski CSMA, pastor of St. Patrick Parish, in few words outlined two year process of
renovations. The main accomplishments include: a new slate roof, renovated sanctuary and the main
nave and ceiling of the church, the new lighting inside and outside of the church as well as a new sound
system. Fr. Dariusz pointed out to the enormous generosity of parishioners of St. Patrick, who for the
purpose of renovations have donated $ 1.1 million.
The renovated church, which adds a special charm with its tall tower crowned by a cross, permanently
fits into the local landscape and will serve the local faithful for many years to come as a center of
worship.
